Environment speedies!

Ullo! Am in the process of moving apartments, so just quick sketches here, squeezed in between packing! Quite a fun practice really.

Nothing else exciting. I reallllly want to play the Far Cry 3 expansion (Blood Dragon), but I also should be packing away the 360.... >.> GUH.

Mech tortoise!

Hiya! Felt a weird inspiration to draw  a mech tortoise, as you can see below. It has stages to power up its main laser cannon (which in  a game, would warn the player!). I like to think that its side cannons are possibly only for show, and emit smoke, but never actually fire ;) Mech tortoise would take a while on the battlefield, but he has huge HP!

Also went through a short span of drawing my clothes each day, before realizing that seeing as I bike to work everyday, I never really wear much fancy stuff!

 

I'm still playing Fire Emblem: Awakening. I actually let a character die the other night (a tough male mage), as I really cannot keep restarting after playing a battle for over an hour...Never gonna finish it! Animal Crossing: A New Leaf has been pre-ordered, am counting down the days :D

Blissful Dragon Yoga logo design!

A speedy a day

Hi hi! I've been doing some speedies this week outside of work and freelance which I thought I'd share! There's my usual rock monster stuff, combined with  a fight taking place on front of it - it's something to watch!

 I drew a quick cute thing, named Pumpkin.

Followed by Pumpkin's house the next day. I like to think he lives in a forest, and runs a small bar. It's one of those secret places, might even have a membership! It's super small inside, but the drinks are amaaazing!

Outside of these, I finished Bioshock Infinite! I don't want to say much without delving into spoiler territory, but the ending gave me a headache ;) Then part of it clicked in the middle of a yoga class, and had to contain myself from shouting out loud, 'Ohhhh I get it!'

Early April speedy!

Ullo! Sorry for the lack of updates! I had my lovely parents visiting Canada for the first time (ish), and have been busy with freelance :) This was just a speedy, nice and loose.

Lots of games to get playing...but am still on Fire Emblem! So many of my team is married, and with kids...who are fighting alongside them! It's getting a little confusing. (For anyone playing - I married Frederick :P).

Zoooombiessss!

Ullo! Now for something completely different from my last posts: Zooooombiiiieeessss! Squeezed in between freelance (and originally this was going to be for someone, but I really should never trust anyone asking for art from Deviantart, have never had anything but bad luck from requests on there...).

I've been playing a lot of the new Tomb Raider - brilliant game :) Loooove the environments, and all the different types of weather! Such  a good year for gaming so far. My Fire Emblem team continues to level up, no one can die! NO ONE.

One of my cards also made it on to the box, which is always exciting!

Currently playing a ton of Fire Emblem (classic mode). Damn that game starts hard! I was constantly restarting missions, just didn't want anyone to die, but I've gradually got used to the idea - death comes for us all ;) Must pick up Tomb Raider, always enjoy those games!

Crysis 3 concepts

Hi all :) Here's a blast from the past! I left Crytek back in 2011 to move to Canada, and the last project I worked on there was the start of Crysis 3, which just came out today :) So have a peak at some of the (old!!) work I did there! Some heavy multi-legged aliens mechs:

Hi hi! The company where I work, DeNA Studios Canada, recently released a new game on Android called The Powerful: NYC, which I worked on. I did over paints, tiles, objects, and here are some of the rough concepts for the player avatars (along with initial evolutions). :) Well done to all involved!

Warrior Pomeranian

Hiya! My work (DeNA) moved to a new building in Downtown Vancouver, and I keep seeing pomeranian dogs *everywhere*! They're pretty cute, and got me inspired :) Warrior Pomeranian, seeks to rescue his friend, Pomeranian, so they can still go for afternoon tea.

Finished Far Cry 3  - loved the first bad guy, he was totally insane :D I started on Resident Evil 6, and being a long time fan, was severely disappointed with it. It was all quick time events! I should have known after hearing all the reviews, but refused to listen... So I went out and bought Devil May Cry! Really feels like any of the others, am happily surprised, and love all the weapon swapping using the shoulder buttons...

Fun fun! Been playing a ton of Farcry 3 - this game is massive! I loooove to hunt, though the sharks were hard, as I'm scared of them, plus dislike deep water :s Bought Hotline Miami on Steam, that will probably be next, either that or Resident Evil 6...

Trying out new techniques!

Ullo! Quite a mix this update :) First off I have a group of 15 minute sketches:

 

Then, I was trying out a new technique in the next 2 pieces, was a lotta fun (and quick) :) Mage!

Again, just trying different styles. This is Bobble, with the ridiculously long tail!

  

I finished Dishonored- what a good game! I played as a good guy, who mainly just put people to sleep, no killing, other than a few accidental decapitations ;) Next up is Far Cry 3!

Lunch time dragon!

Hullo! Managed to squeeze in a dragon doodle at lunch yesterday, with some after work love today ;) Maybe I'll colour at some point.

My box set for The Hobbit arrived, which had some of my work in :) Still more to come. Can't believe I did these over a year ago!

I finished Halo 4 last night - what amazing graphics that game had, shows there's still life in this gen yet! The sound effects were fantastic, loved all the weapons, ahhh so good. Next up is Dishonored!

LOTR art plus thumbnails!

Hullo and happy new year! Hope everyone had a nice time :) One of my pics I did back in 2011 for the LOTR card game just came out in the Heirs of Numenor pack, the Ithilien Road! Was never quite happy with this one, but there ya go.

On the flight from London to Vancouver, I drew some thumbnail environments, super rough, and some even drawn during the horrible turbulence we had!

Getting ready to play Halo 4, as soon as my jetlag wears off :) Dishonored, Far Cry 3, Resident Evil 6...nevermind Devil May cry and Ni No Kuni coming out this month! Exciting :D
