Rembrandt Fish

Hiya! Drew a very quick sketch of a fish, and somehow it became this - I call it the Rembrandt Fish :P He is a grizzled veteran when it comes to battle.

Torchlight 2 is finished! Great game, very enjoyable, looooved the art, and some great boss fights!I fully intended on buying Resident Evil 6 today, but somehow walked out with the big Skyrim box set (with dragon and art book!). Yes, I already own this game and finished it....but it came with a dragon!!

Hi hi! Just felt like doing something totally different one evening. The cat on the left is what happens when I don't have an art director (jokes!):

I finished Torchlight, the sequel is out in under half an hour (midnight west coast time). I was planning on staying awake for an hour and playing...we shall see!

The Wind Waker fan art

Hiya! Here's a pic I entered for CG Hub's Zelda competition - to take one of the characters from the universe and change it. One of my faves was Makar from The Wind Waker, such a little cutie ;D I thought I would make him much older and wiser (his leaf is now an autumn colour), and he's become more like a rock as he's aged.

Skulls, waterfalls and cat soldiers!

Ullo! More pics for thee! What was a sketch became this below! Story goes...
All would be warriors must reach the skull waterfalls, and have a 24 hour staring contest. Only then will you be considered a warrior...grade b!

I also drew a cat warrior last weekend and totally forgot to put him on here! It's not a furrie, *sob*, it's not!

 

Played and finished The Walking Dead ep 3, gawd this series is great! Soooo tense! Warning: do not play this game and eat ice cream at the same time, it just does not work... 

Am staring at my game pile, not sure what to pick up next...

Bilbo's feet, a troll key, and more Zombini backgrounds!

Ullo again! So I discovered another pic is in the new The Hobbit box set :) Underneath are the actual cards as they appear in the set, heheh. So ooooh yeah, Bilbo's feet and a Troll key, here ya go :P

I also realised I still had some more backgrounds to post from East Side Games :)  Land, water, air!

So now all my wisdom teeth are gone. I may be less wise from now on :( I was hoping to play games, but these pills are pretty strong! Zzzz.

The Hobbit cards

Hi hi! I did some work Fantasy Flight Games for The Hobbit: Over Hill and Under Hill. I'm not sure how many of my pics have been released for it, but I know for sure the 2 below are out :) These were drawn last October/November listening to Florence and the Machine on loop!

Still playing through Super Metroid - love the bossfights :D Pretty creepy! Am losing all my wisdom teeth tomorrow - somehow I have 5. Not looking forward to it, hope I'm not a big baby! BUT the clinic has a huge robot in the foyer, yes!

Horn initial concepts

Ullo! Last year I was asked to provide initial concepts for the game Horn recently released by Phosphor Games (the main character was yet to be designed.) Def a bit of a Shadow of the Colossus vibe going on :)

Outside of this, played through Dear Esther - what a strange game! Pretty gorgeous though - I've always wanted a game by a bleak, stormy coast ;) And ow I'm playing Super Metroid for the SNES as I've *gasp* never played it before! Old games are hard.

Asti visit pic!

Ullo! My twin sister is visiting me in Vancouver, woo hooooooo! So I drew a pic for her visit :)

Those are coffee shops we visit when she's here :) Sadly, Main Street does not look quite like that (but my sister does looove the mountains and trees here!).

My first game I worked on at DeNA has been released, Fatal Frontier! I did colour adjustments to many of the characters (including the purple lady in the top left of the page :D):

Heya! August already?? Yeesh. Soon my twin sister will be here visiting me in Vancouver, I CANNOT WAIT! For now, more old art! Another LOTR card went out, the Underground lake which I drew last July (....omg a year ago!):

Zombinis backgrounds!

Ullo! Sorry for the lack of updates, but my excuse is the new job and freelancing :) I thought I'd start posting some of the work I did at my previous studio, the wonderful East Side Games! There's quite a bit, so I shall spread it out over the next week or so (to look like I am a good blogger, ahem!). 

These are some of the backgrounds for the Facebook (and Google +) game Zombinis! We wanted to mix and match backgrounds to appear like there were many more, so I divided them into separate components as ya can see below. I was tearing through about 1 and a half a day, whilst unknowingly suffering with pneumonia, great times hahah ;D So here are 3, and I will post more in the upcoming days!

Outside of work, I've been playing The Walking Dead, now on episode 2! Woah are these games tense, and I feel like I make all the WRONG decisions! No one is ever happy...(and not just cos of the zombies!). I've also been reading through the manga, Vagabond, which is brilliant, though is it kinda sad that when I think of Musashi and Kojiro, I think of Pokemon (that being Jesse and James' names in the Japanese version)? :s

Skull summon

Hi hi! So I have new...news! I am now a concept artist for DeNA at their brand spanking new studio in Vancouver (well, I will be come Monday). So here's some free time pics inbetween :)  It's a summoned skull boy and his faithful dog thingy :)

 

And  then just some messing around with a face - not well practiced in drawing more realistic faces. Hopefully will get there eventually, so for now, sketches!

 

 Am trying to finish Limbo. I dunno, I just feel really dumb at times with that game (somehow I've been more stuck in this than I was Braid, which doesn't feel possible!). Such  a great art style though, extremely atmospheric. A shame there were no more spiders, as that thing was so ominous all the time at the start!

Just finished Sword and Sworcery! What a great (if kiiiinda pretentious) game that was :D Loved the music. Yay for the Humble Bundle - now onto Limbo!

Out of breath monster!

Ullo! Had some free time, so have been playing around with Flash again, just got a little breathing monster at the mo. Suuuuuuuuuuuper simple - I am not an animator. But it was fun :)

Finished Diablo 3! I thought he was a little easy :s I died more on random enemies in that game. Still, I bought the recent Humble Bundle, and am playing through Sword andSworcery! LOVE IT. So epic when you get the first kind of Triforce piece, omg :D

More LOTR cards out!

Ullo! I didn't realize it, but 2 more LOTR cards I drew from last year are available (from The Watcher in the Water pack) :) The first, the Grave Cairn, was the very first image I ever drew for Fantasy Flight games. I actually always preferred the rough underneath, heh.

This image was very last minute (I was about to fly back to ye olde England) and so not a fave of mine, but whacha gonna do.

 

I am playing through Diablo 3, female monk class :) Excellent boss fights, love to loot, just wondering what class to play on my second play through...

Cave drinks

Ullo! Sorry for the lack of updates, have been freelancing. These pics here are just me messing around drawing in Flash, trying to work with vectors. Underneath is the rough, and another play with Flash.

The weary traveler stops a a nearby cave for a drink, unaware at how potent and deadly the drinks can be to humans...

 

Other than that, I am patiently waiting to play Diablo 3, what with the servers down. This is sooo frustrating!! My monk is waiting! I'm truds#1313 if anyone would like to (hopefully one day!) play ;D

Oh and The Avengers was brilliant!
